All Year Round Paper Halo

IMG_2543

Have you considered having a paper halo all year round as a beautiful botanic art piece for your wall. We call this one driftwood and it hangs in my living room. The blues remind me of the sky and Port Phillip Bay which is on our doorstep and the ageing book paper represents sand or driftwood gathered from our local beach.

Our halos can also be reflections of our life or memories captured by using family books or music manuscript as an everlasting reminder of loved ones or experiences enjoyed such as maps when travelling or favourite story books read as a child.

We are happy to work with you and create a unique botanical piece for your home and all enquiries are welcome.

Weddings

We have had the privilege of creating beautiful flowers for weddings recently. Such an exciting time for the bride and groom and we feel so blessed to be trusted with making flowers for such special occasions.

Each bouquet or buttonhole has to be as perfect as we can make them and collaboration with the bride and groom is essential. We always feel a sense of pride when they are completed and delivered and the bride is happy and excited with her flowers.

The bride chose bright dotty blooms in various sizes for herself, a bright joyous posy for her flower girl and dreamy pastel shades for bridesmaids. The groom had a special buttonhole with an excerpt from a meaningful book whilst the groomsmen’s buttonholes reflected the same pastels as the bridesmaids.

As a bonus the flowers are everlasting and those memories can be kept for years as a reminder of your wedding day.

Thank you

Decisions, decisions, what to do in 2018!

As 2017 comes to a close we reflect upon our achievements and what we have learnt about our craft and ourselves. We wish to be kinder in our approach and gentle on the environment. A simple way of life unencumbered by clutter and excess. Over the past four years we have gathered a tribe of folk who understand our philosophy of repurposing paper and gifted objects into creating paper flowers and paper craft.

As artists we also need to evolve, experiment and give ourselves space to create. To slow down and immerse ourselves in the creative process. We have taken the decision to not attend markets in 2018 but to concentrate on events and continue to sell through the wonderful handmade collective that is Far Fetched Designs in Seddon.

Our home studio in Bonbeach will be open throughout 2018 so please feel free to contact us at any time for an appointment at papertoyou@gmail.com

To all of you who have supported us, thank you. We would like to wish you and yours a wonderful festive season.

Paper floristry sits in harmony with fresh flowers

Paper flowers used sensitively alongside their fresh cousins can look equally as beautiful and enhance floral arrangements. They can also give pleasure once the fresh florals have spent their blooms and become a lasting memento of a gift of flowers.

Magnolia Reine fresh flowers sitting in vintage tea cups were the perfect backdrop to our paper flower

paper to you and Madonna

Our obsession started in 1984 with the release of Madonna’s first album and subsequently first song I ever bought which was “Like a Virgin”. Madonna was only 2 years younger than I and she had attitude. I remember sitting up … Continue reading
